Request deletion of your LocalPlate account and personal data

How to Request Deletion

Use this page to remove your LocalPlate account and associated personal data, or request deletion of specific data types (for example, receipt images) without closing your account.

  1. Email support@localplateapp.com
  2. Include the email address used for your LocalPlate account
  3. Specify whether you want a full account deletion or targeted deletion (e.g., receipt images, diary entries)
  4. We will verify ownership and confirm completion. Standard processing time: within 30 days

You can also request deletion from inside the app by contacting support; we will route it to the same process.

What We Delete

When you request account deletion, we will permanently remove the following data:

  • Account & profile information (email, name, preferences, subscriptions)
  • Diary entries, favorites, custom foods, and receipt images/OCR results
  • Device/session telemetry tied to your account

What May Be Retained Temporarily

Certain data may be retained for limited periods: payment/entitlement records needed for tax/chargeback compliance and security/audit logs kept for up to 90 days, then deleted or anonymized. Aggregated, de-identified analytics may be kept.

Deletion Timeline

  • Acknowledgement within a few business days
  • Deletion or anonymization completed within 30 days after verification
  • Backups and security logs cleared within 90 days unless legally required otherwise

Partial Deletion Requests

You can request removal of specific items (e.g., a receipt image, diary entry, or device session) without closing your account. Email us with the details, and we'll confirm once handled.

To request partial deletion, contact support@localplateapp.com with details about what you'd like removed.
